We were literally blown away when we first saw photos of this bright golden bugleweed! Ajuga 'Cordial Canary' comes from the creative breeding program of Michigan's Chris (Sparky) Hansen, who worked with the popular Ajuga tenorei, to come up with this gold sister to Ajuga 'Valfredda' (aka: Chocolate Chip). Ajuga 'Cordial Canary' forms a tight, 3" tall, slowly-widening mound of narrow golden leaves, topped in spring with stalks of blue-lavender flowers. This is sure to be a huge hit with garden designers as well as home gardeners as the trend toward "green mulches", continues to grow. Morning sun to part sun and slightly moist soils are best for growth and to retain the bright leaf color.
