China was extremely lucky and received a lion's share (or shall we say, a panda's share) of the plant kingdom. Today there are more Chinese native plants (some 31,000 species or 12% of all known plants) than native plants in all of North America. Roughly 10,000 of these species live nowhere else on earth (except maybe in your garden).
