Boehmeria 'Chantilly' is a variegated leaf selection of the Japanese native Boehmeria japonica var. tenera. This cute deciduous perennial emerges to form a 2' tall x 3' wide specimen of sturdy, upright red stems, clothed with deeply serrate leaves with a long central drip tip. The foliage is irregularly splashed with white blotches, a pattern that's quite stable. The 4" long, bronze flowers, that resemble limp pipe-cleaners, dangle from the terminal end of each stalk...quite unique.
