(aka: Salvia Bocofpea) We love the recently introduced Salvia 'Feathers Peacock', from Dutch plant breeder Kees Jan Kraanwhich, which provides a new twist on the old garden standard, Salvia x sylvestris (aka: nemorosa), by adding genes from the cutleaf Salvia jurisicii. In this case, the basal leaves are deeply serrated, providing a unique garden texture. This 16" tall x 20" wide, tight-clumping sage starts flowering for us around mid-April with 10" stalks of lavender/purple flowers. In the garden, it prefers full sun and average moisture to drier soils.
