This cute 2008 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of Solomon's seal comes from Korea's Mt. Chuwang. The 1' tall arching stems are adorned with small green flowers that dangle on short pedicels beneath the leaf. Each flower cluster is enclosed in an absurdly large green involucre resembling a green handkerchief. This easy-to-grow woodland perennial spreads to make a wonderful groundcover to 4' wide in 10 years. Polygonatum 'Green Hankies' is equally happy in either moist or dry soils.
