Plant Delights and JLBG are pleased to introduce a new selection of the widespread native Phlox stolonifera for 2023. We made this selection in 2008 on the property of the late Vivien Phillips in Yancey County, NC, and are pleased to name it in her honor. Vivien was an amazing plantswoman, naturalist, and all around wonderful human being. Phlox 'Vivien' is the most vigorous selection of Phlox stolonifera we've ever grown, quickly covering the woodland floor without being aggressive. Starting for us in mid-March, the 1" tall x 5' wide patch of foliage is nearly smothered with mauvy lavender flowers atop 6" stalks...a truly superb native selection for the woodland garden.
