Phlox 'Amethyst Pearl' is a mauvy lilac counterpart to Phlox carolina 'Minnie Pearl', developed by the amazing plant breeders at Walters Gardens and introduced in 2015. Starting for us in very early May, the 18" tall stalks are topped with a plethora of mauvy lilac, sweetly-fragrant flowers. We love the rich green foliage, which has never shown a speck of mildew in our climate. If you cut the stalks back after flowers, you should have some good fall rebloom. Because of the slowly spreading habit, expect a 3' wide patch in 3 years.
