Iris verna 'Cleo Chapel Road', introduced in 2012, is a Darrell Probst selection of the North American native (NY south to Florida) woodland iris, discovered on a road by the same name in South Carolina. Darrell selected this clone due to its exceptional vigor and floriferousness. For us, Iris verna 'Cleo Chapel Road' has proven to be an excellent grower, forming a 4" tall x 1' wide clump topped, starting in late April (NC), with lovely blue purple flowers...a great addition to the spring shade garden.
