Iris cristata 'Eco White Angel' is a selection of our native dwarf woodland iris from the late plantsman, Don Jacobs. The 6" tall, slowly widening clump of upright green leaves, which arise from a thin soil-surface-visible rhizome, is topped for us, starting in mid-April, with a blanket of white flowers, hovering just above the foliage, each highlighted with yellow landing strips in the throat, leading hungry insects to the food. Average to slightly dry soils are best, and a planting spot in morning sun will produce a much more floriferous plant.
