Erythrina herbacea 'Fire Tower' is an incredible clone we picked up in 2009 from a Florida nursery, without an original source. All forms of the southeast native (NC to Texas) Erythrina herbacea we'd grown previously topped out at 3' tall, but this clone has arching vegetative stalks that reach 6' tall and create a 10' wide spread. The spring flowering stalks top out at 4-5' tall, creating a stunning show in the garden with hundreds of tubular hot-pink flowers.
