This stunningly floriferous seed strain of Clematis integrifolia comes from Russia's famous Lake Baikal (the world's deepest and oldest lake and no relation to Lauren, who was nearly as old), where it was collected by Czech plantsman, Vladislav Piatek. For us, Clematis integrifolia 'Lake Baikal' makes a clump of short, lax stems, topped from May through September with large, lavender-blue, bell-shaped flowers with upturned petal tips...a hummingbird treat. The possible combinations with other plants, especially those with gold foliage, are endless.
