Carex basiantha 'Cousin Itt' is a 2026 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a 2022 Patrick McMillan collection from Jasper County, South Carolina. This is an amazing, but little-known sedge, that's exceeded our wildest expectations in the garden. Native from NC west to Texas, Carex basiantha thrives in average to wet soils, where it forms very attractive tightly-knit tussocks. Our garden planting has made a 1' tall x 5' wide evergreen to semi-evergreen specimen in four years.
