Agave parryi ssp. couesii is a beautifully symmetrical, but slow-growing century plant from Central Arizona (4,500' - 8,000' elevation), so it has good winter hardiness. Agave parryi ssp. couesii forms a 1.5' tall x 2.5' wide rosette of fairly narrow (for Agave parryi) blue-green foliage. The clumps are usually good off-setters, but that trait varies from seedling to seedling. Because of its high elevation origins, it is very sensitive to excessive summer (and winter) moisture. Our offering is grown from seed from Yavapai County, Arizona.
