Zingiber mioga 'Hot Lips' is a 2025 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a stunning bicolor flowered form of the typically yellow-flowered Zingiber mioga. In our trials, this more compact selection, forms a 5' tall x 5' wide patch in five years. Starting for us in early October, the base of the plant is laden with masses of carmine-red lipped flowers, with a yellow back. This is not a wide-spreading form, as are so many of the cultivars.
