Trillium maculatum 'Little Lee' is our seed grown strain from an original collection in Lee County, Georgia, where Trillium maculatum grew in low moist areas among Sabal minor palms. The plants from this site are much smaller than those from other sites we've visited, topping out in the garden at 7" tall and topped with very dark mottled leaves. The foliage is topped with 1.5" tall beet-red petals in mid to late March (NC).
