(Trillium lancifolium A1NC-059) In 1998, we found this fast-multiplying form of Trillium lancifolium in Whitfield, Georgia, growing in a flooded, poison ivy-covered waste area behind a truck stop. We were able to secure a few divisions from the main clump and finally have enough flowering-sized seedlings to share. For us, this is one of the earliest, cutest, and also one of the smallest trilliums. The narrow, grey-green foliage is heavily speckled purple and topped by a typical liver-colored flower in late March and April (NC). This has proven to be very easy to grow in a woodland and quickly bulks up to form a wonderful clump.
