Trillium lancifolium 'Black Panther' is a 2021 Plant Delights Nursery/JLBG release of our seedling clonal selection from our Trillium 'Shotgun Wedding' strain, which was developed from our hybrids of genetics from north Florida and southeastern Tennessee. This amazing introduction has narrow leaves that emerge an almost black with olive undertones, except for a few light olive patches. Trillium 'Black Panther' offsets very well, forming exceptional tight patches. The clumps, whose foliage ages to dark olive green, are topped with typical narrow-petaled purple petals for us in late March. Trillium lancifolium is happy in typical woodland conditions as well as in a seasonally flooded site.
