(aka: Thymus leucotrichus subsp. neiceffii) Unlike most perennial thyme species, this Balkan endemic is actually a woody subshrub. Thymus neiceffii forms a slow-spreading 2" tall carpet of hairy, glaucous green foliage that looks quite juniper like, but without the spines. We treasure this in our crevice garden, where it has thrived since 2021. The patch is topped with a lovely show of mauvy lavender flowers in May.
