You'll have a hard time finding a better woodland groundcover than Sedum 'Eco Mt. Emei'. This splendid sedum is from the late plantsman Don Jacobs' collection from China's famed Mt. Emei (Sichuan Province). Think of Sedum 'Eco Mt. Emei' as a Sedum makinoi on steroids. Sedum 'Eco Mt. Emei' is a woodland plant that forms a dense 6" tall x 6' wide evergreen patch in 6 years. The 1' long trailing stems are adorned with small paddle-shaped, green leaves, and topped in May and June with a mass of tiny yellow flowers. In winter, the foliage takes on a reddish hue, starting at the leaf edges. Sedum 'Eco Mt. Emei' is a superb, easy-to-grow sedum that can be used as a groundcover in difficult sites including shaded green roofs...much more hardy than any other forms of Sedum makinoi we have tried.
