(aka: Dichromena latifolia) Rhynchospora latifolia 'Class of Charleston' is a 2026 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of an outstanding Zac Hill/Patrick McMillan collection from Charleston County, South Carolina. Unlike Rhynchospora colorata, this is much slower to spread, much taller, and with massively larger flower heads. The showy white flower heads top the 3' tall spikes, starting for us in mid-May (NC), and often reblooms through the summer months. Our three year old clumps have spread to 2' in width. It prefers pitcher plant habitats, growing fine in peat bogs, but also thrives in other constantly moist organic substrates.
