Podophyllum peltatum 'Wagon Wheels' is a 2024 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction from an original 1997 Georgia collection of our native mayapple that we made for the nice coloration in the new leaves. The new foliage emerges, starting for us in late February/early March, with attractive bronze blotches and a distinctive light green central ring. Just below the leaves as they emerge, are the solitary, outfacing white flowers, followed by a late summer yellow fruit, if pollinated. Podophyllum peltatum is a summer-dormant spreading species, so expect a 5' wide patch in 10 years.
