Phlox divaricata 'Blue Ribbons' is a 2022 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of an amazing sport of the US native groundcover phlox we discovered here at JLBG. Phlox divaricata 'Blue Ribbons' forms an evergreen patch to 3" tall x 2' wide, with each leaf edged in a wide border of creamy white. In winter, the foliage takes on a lovely reddish overlay. Despite the dramatic variegation, the plants retain amazing vigor. Starting for us in early spring, the clumps are topped with an amazing display of 6" spikes of fragrant light lavender flowers. Average to slightly dry conditions in light shade or early morning sun produce the best results. We think Phlox divaricata 'Blue Ribbons' is one of our finest of our over 1,000 new plant developments.
