Plantsman Hans Hansen, of Walters Gardens, created this wonderful white-edged sport of the North American native (Mexico), Manfreda undulata 'Chocolate Chips'. Each 1' tall x 4' wide, slowly-offsetting rosette of Manfreda 'Cherry Chocolate Chip' is composed of dusty green, dramatically ruffled, rubbery leaves, adorned with an abundance of large liver-purple spots, and edged with a narrow white border. When Manfreda 'Cherry Chocolate Chip' reaches mature size after several years, each clump will be topped with fascinating 3' tall flower spikes with spidery flowers. Unlike their cousins, agaves, manfredas don't die after flowering.
