We are pleased to offer the rarely sold, nursery seed-propagated Lilium canadense var. editorum. This amazing native lily, which hails from Pennsylvania south to Georgia, produces a 5' tall stalk, adorned with wide whorled leaves. Each stalk is topped with branched heads of pendent flower buds. The buds open for us in late May/early June to reveal 7-10 orange-to-red flowers per stalk, each with a prominent yellow throat, spotted cinnamon. Moist, rich organic soils and full sun produce the best plants. Lilium canadense var. editorum is nicely stoloniferous, producing a 2' wide patch in 5 years.
