This 2002 introduction boasts the same vigor as Lamium 'Orchid Frost', but with large clusters of purple flowers to contrast against the wonderful silver foliage, edged in green. Lamium 'Purple Dragon' was discovered by Michigan's John VanSanden as a branch sport of Lamium 'White Nancy'. For us, Lamium 'Purple Dragon' begins flowering in very early spring. Moist, well-drained soils are best although this cultivar seems to be very drought-tolerant once established.
