Iris 'Roy Davidson' is a superb Ben Hager hybrid of Iris pseudacorus, named after the late Washington plantsman, Roy Davidson. For us, Iris 'Roy Davidson' makes a vigorous clump, topped, starting in early May, with an abundance of 3' tall stalks, each ending in an array of rich yellow flowers and highlighted by a cinnamon eyezone, and brown streaks that radiate out into the petal. Iris 'Roy Davidson' prefers slightly moist to damp soils, and will also grow as a marginal aquatic. Unlike it's parent, Iris 'Roy Davidson' is essentially sterile.
