(J. Ellis 90) Iris 'Chance Beauty' is one of the most impressive of the sterile Iris x pseudata hybrids (Japanese iris x yellow flag iris) and a winner of the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit in 1998. The upright Iris 'Chance Beauty' reaches a massive 54" tall, topped in May with clusters of bright yellow flowers, each highlighted by a cinnamon eyelash pattern that radiates out from the center to the petal's edge...a hummingbird favorite. The Iris x pseudatas are equally as happy in a bog or in typical garden soils. We recommend they be divided every 3 years to maintain their vigor and size.
