Hosta 'Monkey Business'
Fransen/Naylor Creek (NR)
Item #: 18285
Zones: 3a to 8b
Dormancy: Winter
Height: 24" tall
Origin: Hybrid
We're quite jaded about new hosta introductions, but it was love at first sight when we first encountered Hosta 'Monkey Business'. This Fransen Nursery sport was a mutation from the chartreuse foliaged Hosta 'Funky Monkey'. The 2' tall x 4' wide vigorous clump, has long, arrow-shaped, thick-textured leaves. Each leaf has a dark green center with a wide yellow border, and supported by very visible dark purple petioles. In early spring, the foliage emerges all green, but the variegation appears soon after and holds well all season. This makes a truly superb, unique specimen.
