(aka: Hosta PDN 99-044) Hosta 'Apple Pie' is our 1999 seedling that just continues to impress us after all this time, so we want to finally share it after a 20-year evaluation. Hosta 'Apple Pie' is our hybrid involving three species: Hosta longipes, Hosta hypoleuca, and Hosta plantaginea. Hosta 'Apple Pie' forms a 20" tall x 4' wide clump of wavy 11" long x 6" wide leaves that reminded us of the scalloped crust on an apple pie. The leaves emerge a lovely glossy gold, and later age to light green. We hope you love this a much as we do!
