(aka: Aster hemispherica) Eurybia (Aster) hemispherica 'Baby Blues' is a Van der Giessen Nursery collection of the Southeast (Kansas south to Florida) native. This collection of this little-known mesic to dryland species hails from the Black Belt region of Autauga County, Alabama. Our decade old garden specimen has formed a 2' tall x 5' wide patch of 2' long arching, thin, bristly stems, that branch toward the tip. Starting for us in late August, the stalks, clothed in linear, scabrous foliage, explode with a mass of 1" wide lavender flowers. Eurybia 'Baby Blues' makes a stunning addition to the late summer/early fall garden.
