How is it that one of the most amazing deer-resistant natives is rarely offered in a nursery? From Minnesota to Texas, Euphorbia corollata grows on dry, shaded banks, only to be mowed by highway crews. When brought into the sunlight, it becomes one of the stars of the garden. The small mound of dusty-green, oval foliage looks plain Jane until late June, when it bursts forth with clouds of small white flowers held above the foliage. The baby's breath-like heads continue to flower at an amazing rate from late June into September...a real winner! Our 2003 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction is a NC native clonal selection made by former Plant Delights staffer, Al Glen. These euphorbias never make much more than spindly container specimens, so get it planted asap, and be patient while it establishes.
