A 2011 Plant Delights introduction! For years, I drove past a clump of Eupatorium fistulosum on NC Highway 42 in Johnston County that was always in flower before any others in the patch. The cuttings we rooted also produced garden plants that consistently start flowering for us in mid- to late June...long before other selections have started forming flower buds. The 7' tall clumps are topped with well-branched, butterfly attracting flower heads of mauvy-lavender!
