Epimedium sempervirens 'Candy Hearts' is a 2001 Darrell Probst introduction that forms a 10" tall x 2' wide, semi-evergreen clump of dark green foliage that emerges rosy violet in late winter, morphs to green leaves with a violet edge, then finally changes to solid green. The clumps are topped, starting in early April (NC), with terminal clusters of light lavender flowers that just top the emerging foliage - quite special in the early spring garden.
