Echinacea 'Rainbow Marcella' is one of the newest coneflower developments from the breeding geniuses at Holland's AB-Cultivars. In the garden, it forms a compact, well-branched clump with sturdy 18" stems, topped with large flowers that open a lovely medium orange and age to raspberry pink, providing a constant color change in the garden. The key to success in the garden is good drainage and a soil that doesn't become waterlogged in the winter. After planting, remove the first set of flowers at ground level to help in perennialization by creating better basal growth buds instead of only flower buds.
