(syn: Cypripedium calceolus var. pubescens) We are thrilled to be able to once again offer the wonderful American native giant yellow ladyslipper orchid. Cypripedium parviflorum var. pubescens makes a large clump (with age) of 20" tall stalks clothed with hairy green leaves. In May, the clumps are topped with amazing bright yellow "ladyslipper" flowers. An established clump of Cypripedium parviflorum var. pubescens is truly a breathtaking sight! Cypripediums should be planted on compost-amended soil where the roots can be spread out horizontally on top of the soil, then covered in compost since the roots do not grow into the soil like most plants. Our flowering-sized plants of Cypripedium parviflorum var. pubescens are nursery-propagated from seed.
