We are pleased to present Carex howei 'Willow the Wisp' as a 2024 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction. We absolutely love this sedge, which is native from Michigan south to Florida and west to Texas. Our offering is an incredible Zac Hill collection from Johnston County, NC. Carex howei forms a stunning, big hair-like weeping clump to 1.5' tall x 3' wide. The extremely narrow foliage serves as a fine-textured element in the garden, contrasting beautifully with more bold-textured plants. In the wild, Carex howei occurs in blackwater streams in standing water, so this amazing sedge is one of the most wet tolerant species we grow.
