(aka: Carex glauca) Carex flacca 'Mini' is a superb introduction of the Mediterranean-native, blue-foliaged, wetland sedge from the late grass guru, Kurt Bluemel. Carex 'Mini' forms dense tufts to 8" tall x 2.5' wide in 5 years under ideal conditions. We think Carex 'Mini' is one of the finest sedges for landscape designers, due to its everblue color, lack of seeding around, and dense growth habit. Carex flacca 'Mini' will grow in a wide range of conditions from a marginal alkaline aquatic site in full sun to a slightly acidic, average moisture site in part sun/light shade. We think you'll love designing with this well-behaved and amazing plant. We recommend a light trim before the new growth emerges in spring.
