To say we're excited about our 2022 introduction, Baptisia 'Purplicious' would be the understatement of the year. We've been working for decades to get a high quality purple-flowered baptisia with an abundance of tall and dense flowering spikes, and we've finally succeeded. Using Baptisia 'Blue Towers' along with a dose of Baptisia tinctoria, and some secret ingredients, Baptisia 'Purplicious' came to be. The 4' tall x 4' wide clump has tall, unclothed legs, supporting a perfectly-sized body that's then topped off with a mass of 19" tall spikes of dark purple flowers. For us, Baptisia 'Purplicious' is a mid-season bloomer which, once established, is going to knock your proverbial socks off...so, hold onto your shoes.
