Baptisia 'Dark Net' is a 2017 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction that we released for garden designers who like something truly unique. Using genes from a special PDN/JLBG-discovered form of the little-known native Baptisia albescens, Baptisia 'Dark Net' emerges and begins flowering with little or no foliage showing...a classic see-through plant. The emerging 5' tall jet black stems are woven together like a dark net, finally opening to reveal the 2' long spikes of small, creamy white flowers...a truly unique and airy texture. Baptisia 'Dark Net' starts blooming for us in NC around May 1. The small glaucous green leaves begin to emerge after the first few flower stalks have opened.
