Baptisia 'Cinnamon Candles' is a 2018 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a 2007 seedling that includes genes from Baptisia sphaerocarpa, Baptisia minor, and Baptisia alba. Baptisia 'Cinnamon Candles' starts flowering for us in mid-April, when the 50" tall spikes of bicolor chocolate and gold flowers emerge above the foliage. Our breeding focus has been on spikes that rise well above the foliage, and in our trials, the spikes top the foliage by 2'. We think you'll love this unique color combination on one of the great drought tolerant native perennials.
