We are thrilled to once again share our 2015 introduction of what we think is the first named selection of the little known giant Chinese wild ginger, Asarum nobilissimum. Asarum nobilissimum 'King Kong' boasts 8" long x 5" wide, glossy, black-green leaves that radiate out on 8" long stems and slowly spreads to 3' wide in 6 years. In mid-April (NC), the patches are adorned with insanely huge 4" wide flowers of soft yellow with muted purple flecking. You won't even need to pretend to peek to see the voluptuous flowers of Asarum nobilissimum 'King Kong'.
