Asarum inflatum 'Shanghai' is the only form of the rarely grown Chinese Asarum inflatum that we are aware of in cultivation. Asarum inflatum 'Shanghai' makes a 6" tall x 18" wide (in 5 years) slowly spreading evergreen patch of very thick, 5" long, heart-shaped leaves that are green with a muted silver marbling. The clumps are adorned in early April (NC) with stunning masses of large purple-black flowers, each with a corrugated white eye. Thanks to plantsman Jim Waddick for sharing his collection so we could distribute it further.
