Amsonia 'String Theory' is a Walters Gardens release of a dwarf selection of the US native Amsonia hubrichtii. For us, it flowers at 22" tall x 3' wide, which is exactly 1/2 the size of the typical species. By late summer, the foliage expands to 3' tall x 5' wide. For us, flowering of the terminal clusters of very light blue flowers begins in mid-April. Amsonia hubrichtii is very tolerant of both dry and moist soils.
