These amazing century plants were grown from our garden seed gathered from plants that were originally grown from seed collected near La Escondida, Mexico (Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range), as Agave macroculmis. These century plants turned out to be amazingly winter hardy natural hybrids of Agave salmiana var. ferox and Agave asperrima (Agave scabra). Our oldest plants from this cross are now 5' tall x 12' wide, each producing only a scant few pups right at the clump base. Each seedling will be different, but allow plenty of room for these large plants which will have good grey-green coloration and upturned leaf tips. If you're searching for a huge winter hardy agave, this is as good as it gets. We had limited seed production when ours flowered in 2013, so these will only last until our seed runs out.
