Agastache 'Peachie Keen' is a mound of delicious colors and fragrances. This 2014 Walters Gardens hybrid has been outstanding in our heat and humidity trials. Agastache 'Peachie Keen' forms a 2' tall x 2' wide compact clump of light green, minty-smelling foliage. The mounds of foliage are topped from early summer until frost with terminal spikes bearing hundreds of small, peachy-colored, tubular flowers, each emerging from a contrasting darker calyx. Agastache 'Peachie Keen' will have a host of admirers in your garden including hummingbirds, butterflies, and, of course, garden visitors. Well-drained soil is important with all agastaches.
Maintenance:
'Peachie Keen' will die back to the ground after the first freeze. It can either be left alone until late spring, or cut to the ground. We prefer to leave the stalks during the winter. During the growing season, there really isn't much to do.
Growing Conditions:
The key for success with agastaches is bright light for more than 4-6 hours and extremely good drainage. Heavy summer rains are particularly problematic if soils don't drain quickly.
Natural Impacts:
Because of the foliage fragrance, agastaches are typically not bothered by deer. The flowers are extremely attractive to an array of summer pollinators.
