Acorus gramineus 'Licorice' is a 1997 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a US Botanical Garden import from China. This unique form of the evergreen groundcover, Acorus gramineus 'Licorice', forms a patch (3' wide in 3 years in rich soil) of narrow tufts of evergreen grass-like foliage. When brushed or crushed, the foliage and roots release the strong fragrance of licorice... a delight and a must for herbies and licorice addicts. In addition to the cool fragrance, Acorus 'Licorice' is a durable soil groundcover for moist areas, where an occasional barefoot stroll is desired! It's been far too long since we offered this amazing selection, so it's time for a return engagement.
