We are pleased to finally offer the newly named, and very rare Trillium tennesseense for the first time in 2025. This gem hails from Eastern Tennessee's Hamblin and Hawkins Counties, where it's only known from three sites. We first visited the population in 2013, prior to it being formally named, and it's taken us 12 years to build up enough to finally share. For us, Trillium tennesseense is one of the latest trillium species to emerge here, finally bursting into full flower in late April. The dense clumps are composed of 8" tall stems, topped with mottled sessile leaves and bright yellow flowers, that strongly resemble Trillium oostingii. We find these intolerant of deep shade, and much better with a couple of hours of sun.
