For 2024, we are pleased to introduce Tricyrtis macropoda 'Lushan', a superb 2015 Scott McMahan/Dan Hinkley/Ozzie Johnson collection from 3,500', in the natural area around the Lushan Botanical Garden in Jiangxi Province, China. In spring, the velvety foliage emerges heavily spotted as the stalks lurch upward. As summer progresses, and the stalks extend to 2', the stems arch, culminating in a 30" wide clump, topped by a superb flower display, starting for us in early September. Each stalk is adorned with upright-facing flowers of lightly spotted pale lavender, that hold the sexual parts upright like an exploding firework...fascinating! This is the most vigorous form of Tricyrtis macropoda we've ever grown.
