(aka: Thelypteris glanduligera HH05CH047; Amauropelta glanduligera) Thelypteris 'Green Shag' is a 2014 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of the virtually unknown, deciduous Thelypteris glanduligera from a 2005 Hans Hansen collection in Guizhou, China. In the garden, Thelypteris glanduligera 'Green Shag' has formed a 2' tall x 6' wide densely spreading patch (8 years) of upright, light green fronds...a truly superb weed-proof groundcover. We have found that Thelypteris 'Green Shag' takes full sun as well as light shade...one of the very few ferns that will tolerate sun in our climate. We can't recommend this highly enough!
