This recent introduction from Holland's Jan Spruyt makes a dramatic 5' tall specimen. The blue columbine-like, deer-resistant foliage emerges blue with an overlay of gold. The result is a fascinating chartreuse-like cast to the new foliage. The clump extends upward, where it is topped in late spring with cluster of tiny airy yellow flowers. T. 'Illuminator' is a favorite for designers who like to create unique and fun combinations.
